Parking a motorhome on the south coast without taking out a mortgage and losing two feet in height is like trying nail jelly to the wall.
ANPR cameras and height barriers everywhere !
We had a good night at Jack and Jill windmills after the boy racers cleared off.
They turned up about 8pm in a cloud of dust and wheel spins, hung around for about an hour then cleared off leaving a pile of chip paper mess, grrr.
They didn't bother us particularly but some people sat in parked cars enjoying watching the setting sun soon cleared off, we were a bit further away from them thankfully.
I'd though about going into Brighton today to have a wander around, but with height barriers on every carpark and exorbitant parking charges I soon changed my mind.
Instead we went to Saltdean and parked at the Lido.
There's not a great deal there but there is access to the undercliff path to walk by the iconic white cliffs and shingle beaches.

After a quick trip to Sainsburys for supplies, it was onto the ferry port at Newhaven.
The crossing was uneventful but quite smooth so no need for sea legs.
It took four hours, so a much longer journey than Dover/ Calais.
Louis stayed in Ed for the trip with some treats and music for company and he seemed fine although very happy to see us.
Goodbye Blighty ! |
Not going anywhere soon I think ? |
I'd identified a parkup at Belleville sur Mer, just 10 minutes from the Dieppe ferry terminal so we headed straight there for walkies, a quick cup of tea and bed.
