The longest day of the year saw us wake to lower temperatures and less humidity than yesterday which was quite welcome.
There was a bit of fluffy cloud passing us by in the sky and a few sprinkles of rain drops but they didn't amount to anything.
So I set off for a cycle around the island. It's a very pretty island with some impressive stone houses.

This is an old stone quarry where the granite was extracted |

You can see the drill marks where it was split into blocks |

This was some kind of aviery, I'm not sure what for but a couple of seagulls were hanging around |
There's plenty of rocky coves and soft golden sand beaches with lots of water sports on offer.
In the center of the island is Allée couverte de Ty Lia, pre historic burial site of huge granite upright stones and two even larger ones sitting on top forming a cover.
It must have taken some really strong men, and a lot of them to lift those into place.
I wonder who was buried and why they were so important to require this extravagant tomb ?
After lunch when the tide had filled the bay I got the kayak out for a solo paddle, Louis was more interested in having a sleep so I went on my own.
It's a beautiful bay for kayaking in but is quite shallow.
The tide comes in quickly, then the bay empties quite quickly too being so shallow.
I had a paddle across to a small island in the bay which appears to be completely unoccupied apart from sea birds.
The beach was gorgeous and for half an hour I was a castaway on my own desert island, lol.
The rest of the day was spent relaxing, sitting in the shade on our lovely campsite pitch enjoying the moment of freedom from the pressures of life and thankful for being able, and sufficiently blessed to enjoy this lifestyle with a home on wheels, food in the fridge, a cool beer and a happy pampered pooch.
How much more in life does anyone need ?
