Presqu’île de Crozon

Monday 23rd June 2025

First call this morning was a supermarket shop at Super U for essentials.

We had a little rain overnight and it continued until around 1000.
But it wasn't long before the grey skies were sent packing and blue returned.

The shopping task successfully completed we left Le Faou and headed onto the Presqu’île de Crozon, presqu’île means literally ‘nearly an island’ we'd call it a peninsula.

We called at a little port village called Landévennec.

It's a sleepy village but enjoys a lovely setting overlooking the sea.

There's a small port where we could have overnighted but decided not to, in favour of what promised to be an even better location.

We wandered through the village and down the hill to the former Abbey which is now just ruins, similar to Tintern Abbey.

Being Monday it was unfortunately closed so I stretched and hung over the fence to sneek a couple of photos.

It seems to overlook the river estuary so I imagine it's quite a special view of the sea.

I'd found another park up nearby that looked to have great views on the opposite coast of the peninsular, so we headed to Trégarvan.

It is a great place for the night, directly overlooking the river Aulne estuary
So we have great views watching the sea birds.

I had a cycle ride earlier up the estuary through some stunning countryside.

. . . and a shoal of small fish trying to see how far up they can get.
I've no idea what they were but it must be a sign of a healthy river

Trégarvan, great views all round
