Pointe de Dinan and Morgat

Tuesday 24th June 2025

Our offgrid parkup last night in Tregarvan was excellent and very memorable for it's peaceful setting and the stunning views of the estuary.

We were joined by a few other camper vans who also spent the evening marveling at the fantastic coastal scenery.

After breakfast we set off further west onto the peninsula and to Pointe de Dinan, a national nature reserve with spectacular coastal cliffs.

There are marked paths across the heather covered landscape leading to the main attraction, the Chateau de Dinan.

I'm not sure why it's called a chateau as there's no castle or house there ?

But it's a very impressive sea arch which can be walked across to get onto the rocky outcrop.

I didn't do that, just getting there was a sufficiently challenging task for Louis and I.

Anyway it was a fantastic walk with lovely views of the heather clad landscape and dramatic cliffs.

There were also beautiful sandy beaches that looked like they are only accessible by boat.

After lunch we set off for tonights parking in the attractive seaside town of Morgat.

It's a great little village with a very laid back vibe and a spectacular sandy bay with unfortunately lots on these signs on steps to the beach.

No dogs allowed on the beautiful beach unfortunately

Our parking for the night is the local camping car park which is very popular despite it being little more than a carpark with fresh water and dump facilities.

I guess it's the location that makes it so desirable.

I can check on the app and it frequently says full or maybe 1 or 2 places available.

I went for a swim this evening with the tide being in.

It was cold to start with but I soon got accustomed to it and it was very a invigorating swim.

We've come as far west as we can in Brittany without getting the tyres wet, so from here we'll start taking steps east towards Dieppe for the ferry on 2nd July.
