Saint Hilaire du Harcouet

We headed to Saint Hilaire du Harcouet today undecided on whether to book onto the campsite in the town or go to the local free motorhome Aire.

We arrived at the campsite only to find typically, for the French, that reception was closed for a three hour lunch break.

So we went off for some lunch and ended up deciding we'd go on the free Aire.

Free parking, free water services, free dog poo bag dispenser, livin' the dream we are 🤣

All in a designated parking area next to a lovely lake and park, what's not to like ?

There's an outdoor gym and a crazy golf course for those with clubs and a ball 

It's a very good park up and Louis and I enjoyed a walk around the lake this afternoon and up to the church.

The town has an imposing church towering above it with two steeples each having its own clock and both facing the same direction.

I'm not sure of the thinking behind that idea, and I feel for the person who has to keep them synchronised.

If one clock was a few minutes out that'd drive me nuts 

I've plans for a cycle ride this evening, there seems to be a cycle trail passing the park so I'll go exploring.

The cycle ride didn't last very long, the cycle track soon turned into a busier road than I'd have liked so I turned around and went back.
