We ticked off another BVoF today with Saint Suliac visited after we left our idilic overnight place at Manoir De La Foulerie.
Saint Suliac is located on the River Rance and enjoys fantastic views over the river estuary.
It used to be a important working port but now it's just pleasure yachts that come here.

Saint Suliac, what a view ! |
I'm not sure what the thatcher planted on the roof ridge ? Never seen anything sprouting like that before |
I would say it's not one of the prettiest of BVoF villages.
The houses are built using grey granite giving it a rather austere appearance, but it does feel more authentic than some, and less dedicated to extracting the tourist euro from visitors.
Our next stop was a short drive to Dinan, further up the river.
There's a picturesque port area and the historic centre up on the hill behind us.
So we'll hopefully make it up there later.
