This morning we left Gouarec on the banks of the Brest canal and headed towards the last of the BVoF villages in this area that we'd not already visited
It's called Moncantour and is perched atop a hill giving it natural fortifications which were added to with city walls in the 11th century.
The village still has 11 of it's original 15 towers which fell victim of demolition during the French revolution
Fortunately the parking was halfway up the hill, but it was still a bit of a slog up the stone steps to get to the village.
It was an interesting village with stone and slate houses with a history of weaving particularly canvas and linen products that had made it prosperous.

After lunch we set off on another step towards Dieppe and our overnight parking at Saint Andre des Eau, the town of Evran being better known.
It's a spacious motorhome Aire with a nearby lake which Louis and I walked around this afternoon.
There's lots going on here, a pop up bar, cafe, ice cream parlour and a large open barn where a party is happening this evening.
I thought it was a children's party until I realised the number of walking sticks and Zimmer frames.
The oldies must be having a get together, they are indeed having a birthday party judging by the singing.
On the lake beach there's beach volleyball and even a court on the lake which I think must be water polo ?
