Garden Villa Barbargio and onto Montegrotto

We had a very peaceful night at Castelmassa, on the banks of the Po.
But we awoke to just a little light rain spots.

After breakfast, we set off north to Garden Villa Barbargio Valsanzibo.

This is a garden Monty Don visited and featured on one his program about Italian gardens a few years ago.

It is a very beautiful garden, but not one for flower lovers, as they were very obviously absent in this garden.

It's all symmetrical structures, water falls, ponds, fountains, statues, parterre gardens and mature woodlands.

It is very atmospheric and beautiful in it's design and structure.

So it was a great way to spend a morning.

I'd picked a motorhome Sosta in the nearby town of Monselice for tonight, but when we got there they'd got the builders in revamping the Sosta and adjacent carpark.
This was a pity as it looked like an interesting town.
So it was back on the apps to find somewhere else for tonight.

Now, a funny thing happened, we use LPG for the boiler, cooking and the fridge when we're not on electric hook up.
We have refillable tanks that we can refill at most garages.

We needed to refill, so selected a nearby garage, first visit they were closed until 3pm. So we did some shopping and called back. This time the attendant put the lpg hose went on and it leaked gas.

It turned out the O ring on the adapter had split.
Another of the minor breakages that seem to be a feature of this trip.

I've never needed to use these adapters before, the garages have always had the necessary adapter, but not so this time.
So he wouldn't use it to fill up.

Now, where do you buy a new rubber O ring in a unfamiliar town and country ?

It wasn't a big problem as I was sure we'd be ok for gas for a day or two

So I selected another parkup at a Spa town, or Terme as they call them, at a town called Montegrotto.

We arrived and it's quite a nice place for the night, but not 20 yards away is a florist that also sells gardening stuff and hosepipes bits and pieces.

Worth a try I thought, and low and behold they sell O rings !!!

So a suitable one was purchased for 50 cents.
I put it on the adapter and it seems fine, but I'll find out for sure tomorrow when I try and refill the LPG tanks.

My evening walk took me into the centre of Montegrotto Terme and it's a really smart town with numerous large Terme hotels, boutiques, restaurants and bars.

The people who use these Spa's clearly spend a lot of money in town judging by the shopping on offer.

All rather pricy I suspect ?

There see to be about a dozen large Terme hotels in town, all trading on the Spa thing, so it must be quite big business around here
