Colmar and Turckheim in the sunshine

Saturday 21st September 2024

We had an enjoyable day today wandering around the medieval town of Colmar, still in the Alsace wine region, after a pleasant drive for about an hour,
through some beautiful countryside, leaving Olginate after breakfast.

I'd managed to find parking just five minutes walk from the old town.

It's a very pretty town with lots of half timbered medieval buildings.

Most must have been rebuilt after WWll as we saw photos of Colmar in 1945 and it was mostly flattened.

You'd never know today though, it's a very attractive little town.

Next it was onto tonight's parkup at the equally pretty village of Turckheim just 15 minutes away.

Lots more medieval half timbered buildings.

So we're feeling completely half timbered out this evening, it's been a nice day though.

And some views of Turckheim

A cold beer was enjoyed in here
