We had a very peaceful nights sleep in Battaglia
Terme Sosta with our French neighbours next door.
The morning started a bit overcast but soon the sun
came out and was quite warm, so we set off to explore the Euganei Hills behind
us.
We stopped at a small village called Arqua Petrarca
which was very pretty and of course dominated by the church. The surrounding
fields and grapevines left little doubt about how this and surrounding villages
earned their living, as well as the tourists that visit for whom a very large
car park has thoughtfully been provided.
After a wander around and an attempt at a
conversation with a local, we set off north for the town of Castelfranco Veneto.
This is medieval town with very well preserved town
walls that, along with a moat encircle the entire town. It`s very picturesque
and we enjoyed our time having a wander around and taking photographs.
Parking was easy with a very large carpark just
outside the town walls.
Later we set off for Venice,
the jewel of this region and this evening we are installed at Camping Venezia
Village. The site main
attraction is it`s convenience for Venice. It is located on the left hand side
as you join the dual carridgeway to take you across the bridge (Via della
Liberta) onto the island to Pizzale Roma. A bus runs from outside the site every 15
minutes, so that`s our plan for tomorrow.
I`m having data issues so no photos until it`s sorted, BFN Edit : Done now, user error !
