Saint Trivier de Courtes to Auberive

Today started grey and wet and continued like that for the rest of the day.

On the up side, I'd selected a scenic route north for today through some hills called Bois de la Chaume following the river Ouche along the valley.

It was a lovely drive through some beautiful countryside and quaint villages.
We saw some fantastic autumn colours which are very evident now.

Of course it would have been better on a dry sunny day, but never the less it was an enjoyable drive.

On our route I'd spotted what is acknowledged to the the source of the Seine.
There is even a village called Source Seine.

So I diverted to take a look.

There is a small park with a walking route to a spring and statue, a small pond and a trickle going under a stone bridge. This is what becomes that huge river through Paris.

It was still raining so I didn't linger, it was memorable to see it though.

Next it was onto in our parking for the night at nearby Chanceaux.
When we got there it became apparent all the parking was on grass, in rain that's not a good idea.

Annoying because it's the only all grass parking we've come across for ages.

Anyway, I reset the sat nav for another village called Auberive.

Thankfully it had hardstanding parking.

It looks to be a nice little village which I'll explore in the morning if it's not raining.

Not many photos from today due to the weather but here are some of Lusigney sur Ouche

Another door of the day for those who don't want to be bothered by visitors !

I'm not sure what this building was used for, maybe a sheep wash ?
There is a sign on the building "rue de l'ancien presbytère" which translates as "street of the old presbytery" so maybe something to do with the church more likely than a sheep dip, lol.

Some lovely autumn colours

"cauvaed aubergiste" is Innkeeper, so this must have been the
local pub many years ago

And some of the source of l'Seine

 The bridge over l'Seine

 Natural spring, source of l'Seine

The trickle bottom left is the Seine as it leaves the grotto, then forms a small pond and makes it way under the little stone bridge on it's journey north to the English Channel at Honfleur
