This part of France is really impressing me.
How did I not know this was such a scenic and beautiful area ?
We left Saint Martins this morning on a mission to track down some milk.
In France, on a Sunday, that's quite a mission !
Very few places open Sundays, but it seems a few supermarkets do, thankfully. So we set a course for the nearest, Lidl.
But they don't sell fresh milk, only uht.
We found this last week also in another Lidl.
This rang a bell from the last time we were here in France in 2019.
Lidl in France don't seem to stock fresh milk which seems very odd to us English, especially as most if the other supermarkets sell it.
Certainly to the Intermarch we went to next had some.
Next I set a course for the Pont d'Arc on the Gorge l'Ardeche.
The Gorge is every bit as stunning as the Gorge du Verdon in Provence.
They're both amazing landscapes, but the Ardeche has the remarkable Pont d'Arc which does not fail to impress.

The road up the Gorge has numerous layby panoramic view points to stop at and enjoy the vista. The problem is, it's tempting to stop at them all and make very slow progress.
We arrived at our destination for today at a village called Ruoms.
Our campsite is on the banks of the Ardeche.
This is a small village with a medieval centre which is just as photogenic as the other pretty villages we've visited recently.
I had a quick walk around this afternoon with Louis, but we'll explore it more in the morning when hopefully more places will be open.
The last couple of days have been cooler and a little cloudy with just a few spots of rain. But the weather forecast for tomorrow is much sunnier and warmer.
So, do we head north, or stick around a few days to enjoy the fine weather ?
I think we'll stick around here a bit longer.

Door of the day, for those who don't like having visitors ! |
