Today we ticked off our second BVoF at Sainte Suzanne about an hour south west from last nights peaceful parkup by the river at Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei.
I don't think Sainte Suzanne is quite as photogenic as the other BVoF's we've been to, but it's still worth a few hours to have a wander around.
It's set on a hilltop with a chateau that, to be honest, more resembles a castle ruins but quite interesting and with great views over the surrounding countryside, and, more to the point the motorhome aire is near the top of the hill, so saving a climb up.
The chateau is free to go in and have a wander around, imagine that in the UK ? It'd be 18 pounds admission at least.
But it's an attractive little village with a few shops, bars and restaurants.
Most of the shops are craft based and on my second evening walk up, a lady had opened up her yard and she had an amazing range of heucheras and agapanthus for sale, all which she had grown herself in her small garden.
I'd have bought some as the price was reasonable, but I just wouldn't have anywhere to transport them where they wouldn't die.
The weather continues to be a bit unsettled, no rain to speak of but it was cool overnight requiring the heating on this morning. Which is a bit of a contrast to Wednesday night / Thursday morning where we were sweltering in 30+c near Rouen.
The outlook continues to be unsettled, but at least the 40c temperatures further south seem to have subsided.
Tomorrow we're heading towards La Loire
