Another relatively short drive today, about an hour to our first (on this trip) Les Plus Beaux village de France, or Beautiful Villages of France, at Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei on La Sarthe river.
Very picturesque it is too.
We did a few of these villages last year in Provence and enjoyed visiting them, so over the winter I bought the book listing them with a description and I hope to tick a few more off on this trip.
As well as the pretty cottages and loveley views, there is a walk up to the church and if you continue the path goes down into a meadow by the river where there is a really attractive little chapel, all on it's own in the middle of the meadow.
Built in the 15th Centuary, apparently it has inspired painters to come here over the centuries.
We're parked up in the village on the motorhome aire by La Sarthe river for the princely sum of 5 euro.
No free electricity tonight unfortunately, but we don't need it as the solar is keeping us topped up nicely.
This morning was ovecast but the sun came out for us this afternoon.
