Aberystwyth

Monday 11th August 2025

There is plenty of space for walking across the course after the golfers had retired to the 19th hole, or just gone home for tea and we made the most of the beautiful landscape with a long walk over the rolling hills.

After breakfast I decided to drive into Aberystwyth for a mooch about the famous university town.

It was busy but I managed to get parked up on the seafront which gave great views across Cardigan Bay.

There's lots of building work going on including what looks like renovations of a huge hotel on the promenade, so lots of builders white vans clogging up the town.

It's a nice enough town but an hour had it all covered, including a walk up to the castle ruins and the war memorial, both of which enjoy great views.

After some lunch in Ed we headed to the local Morrisons for some milk and a few other things.

Next stop is a small campsite at Aberffrwd where I need to fill the fresh water and dump the waste.

It's a lovely little basic campsite close to the dam of the Cwm Rheidol Reservoir which I'll go and explore later along with the small village.

Aberffrwd Campsite - not crowded here

Cwm Rheidol Reservoir has an impressive double waterfall
