Langeais

This morning was mostly spent waiting for the hospital to telephone as they'd arranged to do with Sue.

We gave them until 1200 (UK time) then moved on.

Unfortunately they didn't ring until about 4pm and then didn't have a great deal to tell us.

There's some post at home apparently.

After lunch we drove to Villandry on La Loire.

It's one of the chateau's we visited in 2017 and has magnificent gardens for which it is famous.

On that occasion we didn't visit the village at all, and I was sure I'd read somewhere "don't miss out on visiting the village" so as I was looking for somewhere to fill a couple of hours, I decided to give it a go.

In reality it was nice enough, but just not anything that special.

Bin day in Villandry

So we drove the short distance to tonights parkup in the little town of Langeais.
It's a lovely town with a large chateau at its center and some narrow streets lined with assorted shops, cafes, bars and a couple of Boulangerie.

Opposite Langeais Church the house had these window shutter stays which I thought were interesting

The motorhome aire is in the shadow of the chateau, and whilst we don't have much of a view, it's just a short walk to the town and the river La Loire.
