Friday 5th July
What a way to start a Friday, or any other day for that
matter !
A swim in the lake at Lucerne , fabulous, I doub`t there is anything to beat it.
I think the crowd in the park yesterday evening must
have been some kind of informal event.
Most appeared to go at dusk but some seemed to stay
all night. They weren't a problem, but there was intermittent music, talking
loudly, laughing etc.
Ok, but just a little annoying, to grumpy buggers
like us anyway.
Apart from that, it was a perfect stop in a beautiful
place.
An army of council workers had been out since dawn carrying a clean up operation on the park and they even raked the sand level on the beach !
The Swiss do like things to be perfect.

This morning we left Switzerland
and entered France and
headed for the small town of Eguisheim in the Alsace wine producing
region.
Research told me it's a very pretty flower filled
village, and so it turned out to be.
Lots of quant cottages and cobbled streets.
There were many, and I meam many vineyards
selling their products and offering tasting sessions.
Now, we went to the Loire
region a few years ago so I know their tactics.
They get a few glasses down you then expect to make a
sale of last year's entire production.
We'll they're not getting me, so we went to a bar /
restaurant instead and I bought a Pinot Noir, very nice it was too, but I just
had to take an hour off to sleep away the effects ! And now my brain won't
function properly to plan for tomorrow's onward journey, so things may go a
little amiss tomorrow ???
Watch this space !
