Bamburgh Castle & Coast

Friday 16 June 2023

This morning we left our parking at Budle Bay with the lovely views of the coast, to head in a southerly direction.

I decided on a general bimble down the coast road to see what we could find.

First stop was just a short distance from Budle Bay to Bamburgh Castle.

It's a very familiar sight,  featured in lots of Northumberland promotional photographs and a fair few films.

It's in a fantastic location with miles of soft golden sands and with the tide out Louis had a good run and a paddle in the pools.

The next stop was Seahouses, a little former fishing village with a small harbour quay.

The main activity in the harbour seems to be tourist trips to the Farne Islands for sea bird spotters.

It's only a small village and it didn't take long to see what there was.
The Co-op proved useful for some groceries.

I've arranged a pubstop for tonight in the next village called Beadnell.

The pub looks quite nice, it's called the Craster Arms.
So we're dining out tonight.

We had a walk around earlier on and whilst there's not a great lot in the village to get excited about, it's nice enough and has another lovely coastline.

Tomorrow we'll head further south.

This could easily be somewhere much more
