After a post breakfast walk along the river I set off for Broadway, commonly referred to as the jewel of the Cotswolds.
It is indeed a very pretty village with the honey coloured stone buildings.
It's extremely touristy though and whilst it was relatively quiet today I imagine in summer it's a different story.
But it was enjoyable to wander around and take in the typically English Cotswold architecture.
After some lunch I decided to visit Broadway Tower, perched up on a nearby hill which seems to be called Fish Hill.
It's an privately owned 18th century folly built on a limestone escarpment high above the village.
Although a folly, it is a functioning building with internal rooms on three floors. Some of which are a museum.
It is open to the public with an admission charge, but I didn't go inside, we just did the circular walk around the grounds - before the rain came.
There are spectacular far reaching views across the countryside, but not so much today, it was a little cloudy.
Next it was onto a park up for the night in Stow on the Wold.
By the time we arrived the rain was coming down so we didn't get to explore the village, instead we hunkered down in Ed and watched TV.
Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow and we can get out for a walk around.
