Off down the Llyn Peninsula

Oops, a bit late posting this one but better late than never !

Friday 19th June 2026

With a weather forecast for a June heatwave and no commitments at home, I couldn't resist a trip away in the motorhome.

I'd thought of going east, maybe Norfolk or Sussex, but the forecast also said to expect heatwave temperatures in the mid 30's + in those areas.

So the Llyn Peninsula looked much more appealing with temperatures in the mid 20's after some rain on Friday evening, so that sealed it.

It's an area I've got to know well, but I never tire of going back to the beautiful countryside and beaches.

They were correct about the rain on Friday, I left home in warm bright sunshine, but as I got passed Caernafon the rain started and I began to question my life choices 🤣

It was very damp and misty all evening. Should I have gone east instead ?

Porth Ore (Whistling Sands)

Grey skies and drizzle in Porth Ore

My bench (I've sat here on a few occasions in the past) has had some new railings since my last visit, and new picnic benches installed along the path

The Swifts (? or House Martens maybe) were very entertaining swooping and diving

What a difference in the weather the following morning
