I set off today for a few days in Wales.
First stop was Aldi in Mold for some groceries, then it was on to nearby Moel Famau.
It's a scenic peak on the river Dee valley.
It was quite a treck up to the top but we'll worth it for the spectacular views from the summit in the glorious spring weather.
Some curious patterns cut into the heather though
Next stop was Rhos on Sea where I parked on the promenade and had tea before a walk on the beach.
I'd planned to stay overnight here but it was a bit on the busy side with traffic so I decided to move on.
So I went a few miles down the road to Llanfairfechan which is a little further down the coast passed Penmaenmawr.
It's actually quite a pretty little village with brightly painted houses and an attractive seafront and backdrop of hills behind.
Sadly, like most towns on this coast, it's been sliced in two by the A55 North Wales expressway.
But looking at the old road it's easy to see why it was needed
There's been a lot of money spent on the promenade with seating, children's playgrounds and even an ebike charging station with cycle tyre pump and tool station.
Not something I've seen before in the UK, but quite common on the continent.
Perhaps we're beginning to learn ?
